History of the Bluenose Bonspiel
The inaugural Bluenose Bonspiel was held over Labour Day weekend in 2010. 24 teams gathered at the Mayflower Curling Club only to be met with unseasonable high temperatures and a visit from Hurricane Earl. Through power outages, rearranged social events, a condensed draw schedule and a surprise visit from Justin Trudeau, the event was still a success.
The Loose Ends league hosted the Canadian Gay Curling Championships in April 2013 and will be the host league in 2023!
2021 Bluenose Bonspiel Information
The 2021 Bluenose Bonspiel host of the Canadian Gay Curling Championships has been cancelled due to ongoing concerns related to COVID-19.
This bonspiel is open to teams of every skill level! We focus more on the social events and festivities of the event than the competitiveness of the curling.
